I sent a bouquet of cookie flowers for her 30th birthday. Who doesnβt love food? For my birthday two months later, she hopped in her car, drove to my work, dropped off a bouquet of cookie flowers. Yum, but what the hell?
heh, this is a real life story for sure. π maybe i’m too pessimistic about it. though this was over 10 years ago and i still remember it like yesterday and for my swiss cheese brain that’s sayin something. what? i’m not so sure anymore.
This is one of those things that make you go “Hmmmm?”
But it makes for a great 42. I’d say you came out ahead even if it did take more than a decade! π
I’d assume she forgot where she got that really great idea to give a bouquet of cookies for a birthday gift. Probably because that’s exactly the sort of thing I’m likely to forget. π Fun little anecdote, Christina! Thanks for sharing it.
Great story. There really is something to be said for trying to be original when it comes to present giving. And it’s a lesson, I suppose. If you’re going to get back the same, make sure you give something you like π
I guess she didn’t like them…lol
oh she did. this is just the kind of “gift giver” she is; this was just an extreme time. π
Did she try and one up ya or just liked your idea so much she returned the favor? I love real life stories. π

I think this tells you how much she appreciated the gift. “I loved it so much, I’m going to give the same thing and share the joy!”
hehe i wish i believed that. π
I can’t stand that kind of gift-giver!I call them the “obligation people”.
I loved the realness of this piece.
seriously. i’d rather receive nothing than the same damn thing i gave them.
I liked your response?
…not a question. I did, like your response.
“Obligation people” are the worst! Are they just not creative? Why do they hang on to the relationship, anyway? I have so many rhetorical questions.
I guess I would feel weird about it, too, but hey cookies. π
I don’t know. As long as they weren’t the very same cookies two months later… lol

Haha! That sounds so annoying that it made me laugh. Like Marcy said, “but hey, cookies!” π
Ha ha ha. Maybe she just didn’t come up with any ideas for a gift. Hope it wasn’t the same bouquet π
A true slice of life. Nice piece!
This made me laugh. Love it!
She lacks creativity?
Were they the same cookies? That would be…awkward.

I would have been thrilled with the cookies. Just saying!
imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, or so it goes…
